Tell me about yourself
I’m a former collegiate athlete turned entrepreneur. I currently own a digital marketing agency and a podcast (@digitalcartelmedia and @runthatbacklive). I’ve been into fashion for the better part of the last 5 years and was truly inspired by my friends. I still am very competitive in the athletic world / industry. Hosting fitness events and tightly integrated into the fitness industry.
Style is what for you?
I’ll always be more of a relaxed urban look. I do appreciate a well tailored suit for occasions. But you can always find me in @tenthousand.cc fitness apparel during my training sessions and a well tailored urban look when I go out.
How you keep your life balance?
I work a ton. With that being said, I always make time for the gym, boxing, MMA training, or just a well timed recovery day. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found more of a balance between work and play. But I am definitely someone who will put work before almost anything else. Maybe it’s just the athlete in me, but I have been and always be someone who pushes myself.
How you keep your body fit?
I stick to a pretty strict training regimen that consists mostly of resistance training, boxing and MMA. Im not stranger to yoga and pilates as well. I’m huge on mobility and strength so I’m not too manly to get my ass kicked in a hot pilates class haha.
Tell me about your before & after process?
I usually do some sort of training a couple times a day. So before I my morning sessions, I always get my fruit in. A great source of carbs and a little spike of sugar for energy. High in fiber and light on the stomach. My go to supplement is an All-Workout called Vaper that is made by Built To Win. It is a perfect blend of energy, endurance, and fat burning properties. Post workout I’m pretty standard with my whey protein and creatine. Nothing crazy there. I always try to let my body decompress and heal from my rigorous training session and hydrate as much as possible.
Tell me about your diet plan
Right now I’m currently in the middle of a reverse diet, trying to build my metabolism. It’s a process, but I count my macros pretty strictly and I’ve seen great results. Whole foods and being conscious of what I’m putting into my body is huge for me. At the end of the day, hydration and sleep are some of the biggest factors in my diets effectiveness.
Tell me about your fitness plan
Right now I’m training to build mass. I sit at about 240lbs and 10% body fat right now and I’m looking to continue to build while maintaining my athleticism. Eventually I’ll bring myself into a slow and sustainable cut. But my training regimen consists of two workouts per day. Always a lifting session and sometimes two. Usually I’ll box or train MMA in the later part of the day for excellent cardio and to perfect a skill. Ever since I stopped playing football, regular lifting just doesn’t do it for me. I need the competition.
Do you like travel?
Which places you like?I travel a ton for work so when I have a chance to be home, I love taking in the homebody vibes. I love warm weather and clear skies. But I live in California, so I don’t have to go far for that.
What are your future projects?
Right now I’m partnering with @tenthousand.cc to set up a Sacramento Sweat Crawl this September 7th. The event consists of a 45 min HIIT functional training workout, a 2 mile run through downtown Sacramento, and finishing with an all out HIIT spin session. The workout will be accompanied by many sponsors and partnering vendors. A great event for some local athletes to showcase their abilities and make connections in the fitness community.
